My new home
Hello friends and newcomers.
As you can see, I have moved to a new part of the Random Forest and have been working away fixing it up so that I can move in fully and habitate it without having to crawl around too much building work.
I am still in the process of renovating so you will see some gradual changes coming here and there when you come by to visit.
I still have my old place though and that has been hauled over very slightly and changed into my Review Centre. I will use my old home mainly now for monetization and hope to develop this new home into a more personal place, better than any of my previous attempts.
I will still be looking to monetize this place slightly though, just not as much.
So now I have a favor to ask. I would be very grateful if you could either change your feed or sign up to this new feed as well as let anyone else that you may be inclined to know that I have moved.
Also I would like to get some feedback on the new ‘in-progress’ design and please be honest.

I’ve just updated my feed!
Only one suggestion on the theme: I cannot read the recent comment, archive entries or Blogroll because it shows as a very bright blue over grey. No issues otherwise. Very clean theme, soothing to the eye.

Yo Forest! Congrats on the move! You gotta let us know how you’re doing with Wordpress and stuff! Does it have an odd feel or do you finally feel like you have the control you needed?
And I like the design so far. I really like the curved rectangle that everything is contained in and I like the color scheme. On that note though, I’m not sure how I feel about the blue links when read off the right background color (the purplish one).
I also feel like the right sidebar is a bit too big… I think because of it’s darker color compared to the white on the left, it’s already competing for a user’s eye… So having it be basically the same size makes things a bit… “tricky”.
But it’s coming along nice and I think it’s the best design I’ve seen on here yet. (#):)

Hey thanks for the feedback guys.
I know the sidebar is a problem but am still trying to work out how to change colours and stuff…. so to answer your question Bush. Wordpress is confusing me but I do feel more in control.
I decided to start with the default theme and amend it myself. 1. so I learn what I am doing and 2. because Garry Conn said once that is is probably the most solidly written and SEO friendly theme he had seen.
I guess shrinking the sidebars slightly would help so best get on with that soon.

Forrest, congrats on the move to WordPress and best of luck with all the re-learning that you will need to do with the new system. Thankfully, there is plenty of help available online, and you shouldn’t stumble too much. If you get stuck with anything feel free to drop me a line. I am quite familiar with WordPress now, having built a few sites with it.
As far as the layout goes, so far so good. I’m sure you have plenty of ideas in mind for next-steps and I’m looking forward to seeing them.
