DVD? Rent Online - A simple guide and a free trial…
If my previous post I looked at Blockbuster’s rental service and gave you a link for their UK online service.
I am in Canada though, so no good for me and I am still looking.
Whilst researching though I came across a great looking online DVD rental company for those of you in the US. And they have a 10 day free trial. The thing that drew me to them was the fact that aside from Hollywood classics and New Releases they have an extremely large Indie Film section. I’m just peeved that I can’t use them here in Canada.
It also dawned on me that many people used to the old way of renting DVDs may not understand this whole online rental thing, so here is my simple guide.
It works something like this.
- You choose a plan which entitles you to either 1, 2 or 3 DVDs at a time (for a very good price)
- You make a list of DVDs that you want to see
- You get sent either 1,2 or 3 DVDs from your list depending on your plan
- When you finish watching one, you pop it back in the free post envelope and send it back
- When they receive it back, they send you another DVD from your list
And so on…
It really is simple and totally brilliant.
If anyone has any experience with online DVD rental in Canada, particularly Quebec then I would love to find out who is good and who is bad.

Can you get Netflix in Canada? Even if they don’t ship the DVDs, you might be able to watch the movies online.
