My new blog… about Animals

Hey everyone… probably been wondering where I have been (yeah right!).

The last few days have been a little busy with my new project.

I have been trying to find inspiration for a new niche blog for a long while now but have been having trouble. Then on Sunday morning I was looking over my stats. I realized that some of my most popular posts with my readers and the search engines were animal related.

So after searching for various names and racking my brains I came up with the most brilliant, clever, amazing name you could ever think for a blog related to animals…….

I present……

BlogAboutAnimals.com

blog about animals header

This blog is very new so I would appreciate some feedback on the design and the layout as well as any ideas for posts or what ever else you would like to see.

If this interests you then please take a trip over and subscribe.

PS: I want to start a ‘Bloggers Pets’ series so if you want to showcase your pet on my new blog then please let me know.

    Your new site is a great idea. I look forward to showcasing Plinko! :-D

    How cool. I have a great shot of my dog. It’s from the back of our boat. We have a fish dog and this picture is perfect. Took my husband all morning to get the shot. I’ll ship the pic to you when hubby returns home. He has it on his computer somewhere. :)

    Fantastic, sorry for the plug on your blog, I don’t normally use comments for such use. I just thought I would try and get the word out and start getting some of my favorite bloggers interacting.

    I’m going to add you to my friends blogroll over there. I think it will be a much more appealing site for many of my readers as it will be a fun and easy read on most days.

    Ahh… New projects for everyone! I like the title: http://blogaboutanimals.com/. It’s a much nicer name than our new project: http://www.floccinaucinihilipilificatious.info/

    I couldn’t figure out your banner ads - are they commission junction or a different ad network?

    Like the google search bar - I find they never really pick up my posts well enough to use as a search engine for my blog. Have you thought about using the mightysearch plugin to let you post the search results inside of your blog? (That way you’d still have your sidebar navigation) - Make sure you turn off the ads in the sidebar when you’re showing your search results, or you’ll be in violation of Google’s terms of service)

    We don’t have any traffic to make money through google ads, but we hear that blended ads are all the rage in terms of conversions. Ever think about changing the sidebar ads to white with no border?

    Just my two cents :) Good luck!

    I’ll be signing up over there too. We have a dog, cat and a bird. I’m sure they will enjoy getting a mention in your blog. :)

    @Webdiggin

    Cheers for the compliments…
    I thought you new site name was a joke! Then I clicked on it :). I have subscribed to your shameless new blog and thanks for the nod. The banners are Commission Junction right now. I would have preferred Pepperjam but they didn’t seem to have the advertisers that I needed (yet!).

    If I can get the Blog ABout Animals to index at the rate this blog does then the Google Search will be great. If not then I may look into this mighty search you talk of.

    The site is a gradual progression from a theme that I got from Garry Conn (www.garryconn.com) called SEO Max. You can see it in it’s basic form here http://www.newandreviewed.com. So I will be slowly adapting it over time, testing out arrangements and trying to keep a good looking mix between ads and functionality.

    @Mark
    I’d love to feature all of your animals, looking forward to seeing the bird. I will post videos too, if you have any…. anyway I’ll send you an email later today so we can get the photos and blurb together ready for posting.

    Thanks everyone.

    Both blogs are now on the blogroll. Thanks for the link.

    Thats a nice blog Forest. Is the aim to make it an adsense blog? Or do you have another idea behind it?

  9. admin Says:

    Hi Dave, thanks….

    I obviously want to monetize it but also want it to be a quality blog. I am trying to find the middle ground.

    I plan to promote a few affiliate products every week and mess around with the affiliate ads and other ad networks.
