Five Great Social Sparkers
I recently was invited to sign up for the Beta version of Social Spark. Social Spark is an interesting new concept from Izea. It mixes the idea of getting sponsored to write posts and social networking.
One of the options it provides is for you to put an opportunity out there for people to take in exchange for a mention on your website. No money involved.
So I thought I would try it out. I asked people on Social Spark to give me an honest review in exchange for a review back on my site. As I have been so damn busy it has taken me a while to get round to it but finally here are the reviews as promised.
Marc of Techne-Eikon gave me a great honest review and helped make me aware of a few things I had to change, which I duly did. I am very grateful for this frankness and this is an attribute that is present throughout his blog.
It’s simple and random like my own place here with a cool modern design. Recently talking about such things as “Intense Debate” and “GOS” it tends to lean more towards the technical side of things but gives nice personal views on the matters.
Talking more on the design, well it’s modern and has a great panoramic shot from a beach looking over a night time city. Not sure what city it is, but looks great. It feels like a tech blog and the content suits.
If I was to change anything I would try and make the title in th header line to the left with the post area and the post titles a little larger but their really isn’t too much else wrong here. The design is quite different to most blogs around, mainly due to the fact that ads are sparse and Marc obviously is not in it for the money.
Philaahzophy gave me a great list of improvements to make. I pretty much went down the list and made everyone of these. Again honesty was very appreciated.
The first thing that strikes about this site is the interesting and original design. It is a pretty standard 3 column ordeal but has been skinned with cool graphics reminiscent of an Indian Jones set. The Adsense ads are nicely distributed and I particularly like the “translate” option for the blog.
The content is very well summed up in the tag line “Personal musings on life, business, anarchy, fatherhood, and earning money online” and in some ways reminded me of this blog. It’s a hub for all thoughts and like me a place to talk about the odd money making / losing experience. I love the writing style and things such as the light bulb riddle are great entertainment.
Not much needs to change on this blog. It’s going in a great direction and the content is varied but solid. There is a little problem graphically with the Google search, which I am sure will be sorted soon, and some of the borders are a little pixellated but really if I knew nothing about graphics it would not be an issue.
The fate of Tyrlon and other dubious things
A great title! Also a great URL that could be put to many uses (greatpcs.net). This blog is geared towards talking about software development, games and some random things. Like me he loves films and recommended that I take up NetFlix. Sadly Canada does not have it and it is really annoying me! One of the recent posts about Insane Cheerleaders really cracked me up and is definitely worth a read!
I think the design needs a little update but overall it’s a clean blog with good fun and interesting content.
Ads for Blog gave me a very nice little review and suggested that I write more with the random forest theme. Sometimes I do try and enjoy doing so, so a point well taken.
They aim to give ethical money making tips and looking through their posts it seems that honest and good reviews and findings are being presented. I like the content here and some of it could be useful to any of us. The big problem with this blog is that it needs tidying up and the theme needs to be much more friendly on the eye, I don’t mean to be mean but it will make more readers hang around. Blogspot has some great, simple and easy customizable themes available and it would be worth updating to one.
India through the eyes of an Indian
Again, a cool title. This blog is posted very often in ones of India’s languages (sorry I am unsure which one) but the English posts and posted videos and images give us a glimpse into a world very different from out own.
Anyway, I think Social Spark is live for everyone now, so it’s a good time to join, and it is going to be an interesting new site that I hope works out very well. All paid posts use no follow links and claim to be search engine friendly. Time will tell…

Hey Forest, thanks for the excellent review! I’ll take a second look at the header text, with your comments in mind. Did I mention that I designed and coded the site myself *wink*
Cheers, Marc

Thanks Marc,
Self coded, that’s impressive. I am just getting to the stage where I can frankenstein a theme to sort of fit what I want. Self coding is never going to happen!!

Thanks for the review, the theme header is actually changing next week hopefully to customize it more so it’s not just a normal word press theme
Thanks for the comments!

Hey Forest. You have been tagged my man. It is I. When you get a chance can you skip over to my site on the Saturday post for the rules. It’s all for fun and I enjoyed the heck out of your last post. I feel much better after venting.
