Free Ticket Exchange - Review
I have not been to a gig for quite a while now. Back in England I used to go quite regular. The last large concert I went to was either The Cat Empire or J-Rule last Summer, whilst staying in Burlington, VT.
I love the feeling of listening to live music and it is something I think about everyday, but here in Montreal large scale events sell out very fast and can be over budget to buy from scalpers (which I never recommend anyway).
If there was a gig coming up and tickets were sold out, the Free Ticket Exchange could come in handy.
The concept is simple. Fans can sell to fans within a social networking environment with absolutely no fees. Could not be simpler.
Tickets can be purchased and sold within the network using tokens so I guess once you have made an initial ticket sale, you can buy some more tickets with your earnings. All sales are created between the buyer and seller so you have full control over who buys.
At present the site is in beta but seems sturdy with a nice and easy design. They currently have tabs to search for tickets to sports, concerts and theater events as well as the option just to browse through the community.
I really like the concept. The lack of money and encouraged use of points could be a great way to keep away scalpers and I hope they put some other measures in place to help with this.
